Send Video Messages Easily With New Google Chat Feature

Google has introduced a new update in Google Chat that empowers users to send video messages, enhancing interaction and making it an enterprise-focused chat platform. This upgrade also enables voice message transcriptions and supports video messaging, adding a new dimension to communication.

These video messages can be shared in direct messages (DMs), group chats, and spaces, enhancing the user experience. You can interact with them through text messages by quoting, reacting, or replying in a thread. While mobile users can currently only receive and view video messages, Google plans to expand these new features to mobile devices in the future. This feature’s rollout started on October 7, 2024, for Rapid Release domains and will be available for scheduled release domains from October 25, 2024. However, users might see this feature within 15 days.

Moreover, certain systems, including Linux, ChromeOS, and Firefox, cannot record video messages. However, Google plans to add transcription services soon with them, allowing users to read them. The upgrades allow businesses to communicate effectively for updates, team projects, or important announcements. This feature will soon be available to the users, making communication across teams and organisations streamlined.
