Samsung Hosts PlayGalaxy Cup 3 Esports Tournament

Samsung, a renowned South Korean consumer electronics brand, announced the third edition of #PlayGalaxy Cup, Samsung’s ultimate gaming showdown. It’s one of the biggest Esports Tournaments in India and is played on Galaxy S25 Ultra. A staggering 300 million users attended this year’s edition, up from 150 million in the previous edition.

The tournament was live-streamed on January 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the Samsung India YouTube channel and Samsung exclusive stores across the nation.

Aditya Babbar, the Vice president of MX Business and Samsung India, shared that the company has always been dedicated to developing powerful devices that handle demanding gameplay.

He added that the latest Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra takes the entire experience a notch higher with blazing-fast performance, a 6.9-inch display, and a super-smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. According to Mr Babbar, the company worked closely with Qualcomm engineers to deliver a customised Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, ensuring exceptional speed.

In the event, 12 teams, totalling 48 gamers, participated, competing in Call of Duty Mobile for the #PlayGalaxy Season 3 Cup. India’s top gamers, including Total Gaming, Techno Gamerz, Carry Minati, Gamerfleet, Mythpat, and Triggered Insan, competed in this event. After an intense showdown across 4 matches, the team with the most points won the cup, which was Pune AI Heroes.
