Instagram Introduces ‘Trial Reels’ For Creators

Meta’s social media platform, Instagram, has introduced a new feature called ‘Trial Reels’ for creators. With Trail Reels, creators can experiment with new content ideas and share them with non-followers.

In the Trial reel feature, creators get access to key engagement metrics of the shared reels, such as views, likes, comments, and shares, after 24 hours. This helps Instagram creators to find out whether the new content was a success or not. If the reel performs well, creators can share it with followers.

Instagram shares that Trail reels can take a longer time to gain views because the platform looks for non-followers who enjoy the content shared by creators. Also, trail reels won’t affect the performance of regular reels.

The Trial reel feature is currently available for a limited number of users with a professional Instagram account. Also, Trial reels won’t be available in the Feed, Reels tab, or main grid; however, a few followers could be able to watch a user’s trial reels if they are shared via direct message, Instagram Explained. Followers might see Trial reels on a page with the same audio, location, or filters.

Creators can use the Trail reel feature on Instagram by turning on the toggle named “Trail” before sharing a new reel. Then, creators can tap the share button. If the reel performs well, creators can tap on the ‘view trial insights’ button in the reel viewer and select the ‘share with everyone’ option.
