Redmi A4 5G was launched in India on Wednesday as the first entry-level smartphone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip. It was introduced at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024 event in New Delhi. The phone will cost less than Rs. 10,000, making it very affordable. It is expected to be one of the cheapest 5G smartphones in India and will be available in stores soon.
The smartphone maker has not shared details about the Redmi A4 5G yet. However, it will be the first phone to use the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip. This chip has eight cores and uses Qualcomm’s 4nm technology. It can reach speeds of 2GHz and works with LPDDR4x RAM. The Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF system provides 5G connectivity, allowing download speeds of up to 1 Gbps. Additionally, also supports full-HD+ displays with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has dual 12-bit image signal processors that can support two 13-megapixel cameras or one 25-megapixel camera with electronic image stabilisation.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi A4 5G to celebrate its 10th anniversary in India. The company began in India in 2014 with the Redmi Note series and has grown quickly. The Redmi Note 5 series became one of its best-selling models. On this important occasion, Muralikrishnan B, the President of Xiaomi India, highlighted the goal of selling 700 million devices in India over the next ten years.
