Human Mobile Devices (HMD), the company that owns the right to manufacture Nokia phones, is all set to launch its new smartphone this year. The Finnish OEM teased the smartphone on X without confirming the name. According to sources, the company wants to launch its legendary Nokia 3210. The company said that the phone will come under the branding of HDM in the latter months of 2024. HMD Global has been selling phones under the Nokia brand name for 7 years now, ever since they bought the rights in 2016 from Microsoft.Â
Nokia published a post on X on 18 March, saying a new phone is coming in May, but they did not name which phone, just showed a pixelated photo that said, “It’s my birthday”. However, since 18 March marks the 25-year birthday of the iconic Nokia 3210, netizens believe the HMD is teasing the 3210.Â
Also, the company is all set to manufacture self-branded phones in the latter part of 2024. For this, HMD has made several claims. The most exciting claim made by the company is the feature of a 108 MP camera. According to the company, their new self-branded smartphone will feature a 108 MP camera as the back of the smartphone. They recently released a photo of a woman holding a cyan-coloured device. Many people think that this will be the first HMD self-branded phone. However, the phone displayed in the photo seems more like a 3D render than an actual product. Nokia makes some of the best phones under 8000, and only time will tell what the next phase of the company will be like.
