The tech giant Google has announced its Play Store’s Best of 2024 Awards, picking the most innovative apps and games that charmed Indian users this year. Five out of seven award-winning apps were developed by Indians, making a huge statement about the innovation and technological prowess of the country.
Google’s best apps list picked competitors from various categories, such as Best for Fun, Everyday Essentials, Best Multi-Device App, etc. Google also revealed that India has emerged as the global leader in AI app downloads, accounting for 21% of global downloads for the year.

Google shared that with the average weekly playtime rising by 30%, India is currently the world’s second-largest market for mobile gaming downloads. Thanks to the 23 million new gamers in FY 2024, the industry has a total of 590 million gamers and is continuously expanding.
