Google Pixel 5 Review: An Exceptional Phone In Your Budget

We think Google’s previous Pixel 4A was the worst phone in the series. However, we didn’t find the same during Google Pixel 5 review. In fact, it was amazing, featuring a powerful dual camera and sporty look. Besides plenty of likes, there are a few dislikes that you would know ahead in this review.

We recently got the Google Pixel 5 and can confidently say that Google Pixel 5 is truly exceptional that fits everyone’s budget. As an enthusiast, we have used almost every generation of Google’s in-house products and as a part of our job, we use each smartphone for a few weeks before sharing our thoughts.

We tested Google Pixel 5 from every aspect and found a few interesting ups and downs as well. Taking a personal side, we would prefer Pixel to be kept as an alternative handset for photography, listening to music, and playing games. Although the processor is not strong enough to deliver a seamless gaming experience, we must say, it is an exceptional device that comes under price.

From major flagship phones featuring 120Hz soothing displays to overpowered Snapdragon 865 processors and huge storage, we even tested feature-rich camera phones, including iPhone 12 mini and Samsung Galaxy S21 powered by Snapdragon 888 processor. But, we found Pixel 5 a bit disappointing on papers. At first, we thought one could get a better phone at the same price, but if it had to be then why Google launched it? For this reason, we started reviewing the Google Pixel 5 as our main phone and the outcomes are here.

Google Pixel 5 Price and Release Date

Released on October 15, 2020, the feature-packed Google Pixel 5 starts from $699. The price is nothing for the kind of features it equips. While the company really understood the management of the pricing segment, we have bad news too. Unfortunately, there is no bigger Pixel 5 L or XL to come this year.

Luckily, Google has announced a pocket-friendly high-end 5G device along with its pixel 5. There was news demonstrating the release of Google Pixel 4a 5G ahead of Google Pixel 5, but that failed because of covid, so it is now available in the market. You can grab right from the official website or check Best Buy for exciting offers & deals. During Google Pixel 5 review, we found some amazing features that made it worth buying. Let’s check!

Design and Display

What is the first thing you check in a smartphone? Of course, the design, display, camera, and then go to the processor. So, talking about the design, we didn’t find anything groundbreaking or really exciting about the Google Pixel 5 design. It is simply a rectangular piece of glass. Also, gone are the days when there were facial recognition and motion-sensors. Additionally, the fingerprint sensor is not as fast and reliable as ever.

Instead of offering two different sizes, Google just released Pixel 5 with a 6-inch OLED display, close to iPhone 12 Pro’s 6.1-inches super AMOLED display. The OLED is way sharp and clear, delivering excellent gaming and watching experience. Along with 1080 x 2340 resolution at a 90Hz refresh rate, the punch-hole display sports a front-facing camera on the top-left.

A Powerful Camera That Holds Complete Credit

It won’t be fair if we go forward without flaunting excellent photography features associated with Pixel 5. While the phone lacks plenty of things, such as the flexibility of multiple cameras, its outstanding main and wide-angle camera is really amazing. If you love phone photography and didn’t think about investing in a DSLR yet, Google Pixel 5 is just like point and shoot. Additionally, the stellar shots of the Pixel 5 show you that you don’t need a quarter camera to capture a perfect shot.

Additionally, despite the mid-tier chipset, you can run an unfettered version of free android games without getting it blogged. With a telephoto lens instead of a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 12.2-megapixel wide camera, Google Pixel 5 delivers an ultimate photography experience like none other. Also, the 120Hz refresh rate makes it a little smoother, however, the pixel’s 90Hz is not that bad.

Battery Life and Performance: Not Amazing But Satisfactory

Google Pixel 5 couldn’t hit the mark but it tried. However, the performance is satisfactory with the 90Hz refresh rate and Snapdragon 765 processor.

The Pixel 5 sports a 4,000mAh powerful battery and it works amazingly compared to others with the same specs. Maybe, this is because of the lack of soli or facial recognition. Additionally, you can use Google Pixel 5 as a wireless charging pad to quickly charge your Google Buds or other phones.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, delivers ultimate performance whether you play games or else. The US version of Pixel 5 supports both Sub6 and mmWave 5G. But outside the USA, the Google Pixel 6 only supports Sub6.

From quick and smooth performance to satisfactorily amazing battery life, Google Pixel 5 featuring Android 11, really amazing. Check major specs and features.
