Apple’s annual worldwide developer conference (WWDC) is planned to kick off in the first week of June, and it is expected to be one of the most significant Apple events. After years of rumours and leaks, the tech giant might unwrap most awaited gadgets like mixed reality headsets. Furthermore, a lot more is expected to happen in this event, from operating system updates, new apps and features to new hardware. Here is everything from possibilities to announcements you should know about Apple WWDC 2023.

When is the WWDC 2023 Scheduled?

Apple has already confirmed the dates for the WWDC, and the keynote is slated for Monday, June 5, 2023, at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT. The in-person event will happen at Apple Park In Cupertino, California; others can attend it via digital platforms. To know more details about the lineup.

How Can I Watch WWDC 2023?

Apple will stream its annual worldwide developer conference from its website and YouTube channel. By any chance, if you miss the live streaming, then you can wait for Apple to post the pre-recorded version on YouTube. With that said, let’s jump to the most significant announcements that we can expect from Apple in WWDC 2023.

Long-rumoured Mixed Reality Headset Launch

Apple’s mixed reality headset is one of the most exciting gadgets for which millions of Apple fans have been waiting for years. However, Apple has yet to confirm its existence to date, but according to the leaks, it will be launched at this event. Apple’s mixed reality headset can provide virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences.

Roumourly called “Reality Pro,” the developer-focused headset is expected to have a design like a “ski goggle” with a dial that lets you turn on/off virtual reality. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the seemingly called “Reality Pro” device will have multiple external sensors for efficient tracking of hands and sensors inside the headset for eye tracking.

The headset is expected to exist as a standalone device with a battery pack connecting to the headset with a cable. As per a few reports, Apple has been busy creating the VR versions of its native applications like Apple Books, Apple TV, Safari, Facetime etc. The expected price tag for the so-called reality pro will be a whopping $3000.

A Larger Display 15-inch MacBook Air

We heard about the launch of a larger 15-inch MacBook Air last year, and since then, more rumours have piled up, and no confirmed update has been given by Apple. The brand-new 15-inch MacBook Air will likely have the Apple-owned M2 chip used in MacBook Air models launched previously. According to Bloomberg’s report, it may have the same 3024 x 1964 resolution as the 14-inch MacBook Pro.

Apart from this, it is unclear whether Apple will reveal its latest laptops or not. Moreover, rumours indicated that the company is working on a new 13-inch MacBook Pro, 13-inch MacBook Air, and a 24-inch iMac; all these devices are expected to have the latest gen M3 chip. Apple plans to expand the list by adding the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air, the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro, and the Mac Studio in WWDC 2023.

New Specs for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS

Since it’s Apple’s annual worldwide developer conference, we can expect to see some updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and more.

As per the rumours, Apple will reveal its iOS 17, which includes many tiny quality-of-life updates. Apple has already shown the variety of accessibility features that are expected to come with the new OS, like Personal Voice tools. Furthermore, iOS 17 is expected to have a special feature that turns the iPhone lock screen into a smart home display when turned horizontal.

Apple is likely to add a few updates to Stage Manager in iPadOS 17, which was launched in October 2022, as it doesn’t work efficiently. The update is less about enhancing functionality and more about improving the technical side.
