Amazon Launches Alexa+ At Its Devices Event 2025

Amazon’s 2025 Devices event took place on February 26 in New York City. Panos Panay, who leads the consumer electronics business and the Amazon Devices & Services team, hosted the event.

At this event, the company unveiled the brand-new Alexa model, which was released 10 years ago. This is another big announcement from Amazon after launching Echo Spot this year.

Alexa+ has some much-awaited and necessary upgrades to compete with AI-backed devices. Gen AI powers Alexa+, which features a more efficient understanding of user prompts. With a single command, Alexa+ can search for all the nearby restaurants, repair shops, grocery stores, etc.

It can now remember users’ preferences, likes, and dislikes, offering an improved experience. Alexa+ can also analyse footage recorded through Ring cameras and understand everything happening in the video, allowing users to ask questions about the event. It can also now analyse PDFs, notes, documents, and other file formats.

Alexa+ will be available in the US in the next few weeks. It costs $19.99 per month but is free for Amazon Prime members, who number 200 million. The e-commerce giant has assured a global rollout later this year.
